SIGNS YOUR INTUITION IS AWAKENING

May 14, 2024

In my last blog, we discussed ‘Instincts vs Intuition.’ This month, I would like to focus on some of the signs that your intuition is awakening.

There are many signs including:

  • An elevated sense of compassion
  • Heightened sensitivity
  • Noticing patterns everywhere
  • Noticing synchronicities
  • Seeing things from a higher perspective
  • Being able to let go of drama
  • Seeing repeating numbers
  • Waking up in the early hours, i.e., 1:11am or 3:33am and feeling discomfort or restlessness

There are multiple explanations for everything, but if your intuition is beginning to make connections everywhere, you will sense that this is something more.

On a deeper level, you will begin to receive messaging via your senses, also known as:

  • Clairaudience
  • Claircognizance
  • Clairsentience
  • Clairvoyance

There are also some rare symptoms which a few people also experience. Please consider whether any of these resonate with you:

  • Anxiety
  • Discomfort
  • Lethargy
  • Sadness

If you experience these symptoms, you would be well advised to seek professional help, see a doctor, engage a counsellor or a certified therapist.

In my transformational work, I have noticed that as your intuition begins to awaken or expand, it’s quite common to experience the following emotional or physical symptoms.

When your intuition awakens, your consciousness elevates; your body, mind, and spirit, begin to align themselves with your true nature; that is your reason for being.  Your heart seeks to ‘align’ itself with people and situations that bring you more joy and satisfaction.  You begin to lose interest in any activities that do not fulfill you, and you gently move towards making choices that reflect your innate self.

As your consciousness awakens, you begin to question things you find are mindless; or because you ‘have to’ and you begin to consider:

  • What makes me happy?
  • Do my current choices support my happiness?
  • Am I thoughtful about my decision making?
  • Why do I make the choices I make?
  • How do they reflect who I am?
  • Is this aligned with the person I want to be?

Children always seek to be loved and to feel physically safe.  They are conditioned (consciously or subconsciously) to make choices and perform tasks that please their parents, teachers, and guardians, ensuring they receive the approval, love, and security they require.  This allows them to feel accepted and safe in the world.

By the time they are 18 years old, they subconsciously make many decisions that feel necessary, normal, and rote, without any thought as to whether these choices make them happy or what their long-term trajectory will be, based on their current modelling.

Today, we are told to be authentic, live our truth, and explore our potential.  This can lead to some deep soul searching, feelings of disconnection and general confusion about how to show up and live this ‘amazing’ life.

Empowering individuals to align with their purpose and optimise their strengths ensures they make progress in the right direction. This allows them to move towards a life that is gratifying and uniquely theirs. It is crucial to dispel the illusion that what works for one will work for another; if they have it, you can too. These are limiting proposals that do not allow for the expression of each person’s unique individuality.

When you have the tools to:

  • Regulate yourself
  • Prioritise your alignment and
  • Uphold Your Value System

You will:

  • Find your voice
  • Make conscious choices and
  • Move in the direction that best reflects you

Finding peace within yourself will make all the difference to your success; you will begin to see that there is so much available to you when you give yourself the attention you need.  As demonstrated on aeroplanes, put the mask over your own mouth first, and breathe calmly; everything else must wait.

The Correlation Between Anxiety & Awakening Your Intuition

Let’s go back and look at:

  • Anxiety
  • Discomfort
  • Lethargy
  • Sadness

These symptoms appear when the space between who you are and where you want to be become overwhelming.

‘Acceptance of self’ requires learning to let go of where you think you need to be, and allowing where you are, to be enough; this will close the gap, and bring you into ‘acceptance of self’.  The place where you no longer abandon yourself, and instead you can prioritise your needs, free from criticism and negative thinking.

When your body begins to feel anxious, it’s a message to bring yourself back into alignment with who you are.  As you do this, your intuition expands, inviting you to explore what you want and why you want it.  Your values begin to shift into alignment with who you are, and decision-making becomes easier.   As you reclaim your power and recognise your worth, your self-esteem increases, and you begin to see opportunities where previously you saw none.

When you trust yourself and your intuition, your physical body responds.  Your breathing becomes slower, deeper, and more relaxed.  Your emotional body regulates itself more easily; your nervous system is soothed, and you easily recognise what makes you happy, what brings you peace and what you’re no longer willing to participate in.

As you take control of your life and embrace empowerment, you can move forward with confidence and trust that everything is falling into place beautifully.

As your intuition expands, some of the activities that used to make you happy, no longer hold the same appeal.  You begin to ask yourself, are my choices aligned with my value system, and reflective of who I want to be?  Sacrificing your needs to be someone you’re not, becomes untenable.  Slowly, gently, and methodically you begin to clean up your life.

Once you start to trust and explore your intuition, you become open to distilling the messages your body is trying to convey via your anxiety, discomfort, lethargy, and sadness.  People report feeling great relief, as they begin to listen to their intuition and act on those insights.

An observation: it may well be beneficial to see a professional if you feel anxiety, discomfort, lethargy, or sadness.

However, if you feel like exploring your intuition, I would like to share something that I've noticed.  When someone experiences anxiety, discomfort, lethargy, or sadness, it can be very distressing trying to figure out what is happening.  I would invite you to stop, breathe and listen to your body.  The body goes into overload and distress when the messages it is sending out are not being received.

Ask yourself: What am I ignoring or not paying attention to?

As the spiritual aspect of you is awakening, it wants attention, and it thrives in natural settings.  If you are in distress, it could be your heart awakening to your higher purpose; your body asking for help to align with your higher self - spirit.  So, I would suggest a meditation class, a reiki session, or offer them a book that you found helpful when you began your journey.  As we assist people to awaken to their journey, they begin to relax, and recognise that it’s time to express who they are more authentically.

Note: When you awaken to your intuition, your perspective shifts and you are no longer willing to engage drama or lower energetic exchanges.  Which means you will change and the people who are used to you behaving in a certain way, may not appreciate it.  They liked you just as you were.

It’s important to remember that this is your life and it’s ok to grow and develop.  In fact, it’s imperative.  Whilst the patterning around your relationships and the interactions may change, the people who truly love you, will always do so.
